Ginrin Tancho Kohaku – A Dazzling Collector’s Koi

Ginrin Tancho Kohaku combines the elegance of Tancho markings with the mesmerizing shimmer of Ginrin scales. Ginrin koi are known for their reflective, metallic sheen, which gives them a glittering appearance when they catch the light. The term "Ginrin" translates to "silvery scale," highlighting their brilliant luster.

Tancho koi are prized for their single red (Hi) marking on the head, a feature that makes them highly sought after. The name "Tancho" precedes the variety, resulting in names like Tancho Kohaku, Tancho Sanke, and Tancho Showa. Traditionally, Tancho refers to a perfect red circle, but the term is now used for any distinct head marking, including other colors, such as a brown circle on a Tancho Ochiba.

Kohaku, with its bright white (Shiro) body and striking red (Hi) patterns, is one of the most admired koi varieties. The most expensive koi ever sold was a Kohaku, reaching an incredible $1.7 million! As part of the prestigious Gosanke group, alongside Sanke and Showa, Ginrin Tancho Kohaku is a truly remarkable addition to any koi collection.

Before shipping, every koi undergoes a strict four-week quarantine. During this period, we conduct thorough health screenings, including slime coat swipes and parasite tests. If necessary, treatments are administered to guarantee each fish arrives in peak condition.

• Free Shipping is valid for orders with a subtotal exceeding $199 and all orders will be shipped via UPS. Items purchased for delivery after 3pm will ship the following day. Items purchased for delivery after 3pm on Friday will ship Monday.
• Koi Fish only ship Monday- Wednesday. For orders placed after 3pm on Wednesday, the order will be shipped the following Monday.
• For Motor Freight (LTL) Shipments, oversized or heavy items unsuitable for traditional parcel delivery will be dispatched through a motor freight carrier, as indicated on the product page. Once the carrier receives your order, they will reach out to arrange a delivery time. An individual aged 18 or older must be present to sign for the delivery.
• You may return or exchange an unused or unopened item for a refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days of purchase. Following 30 days, the item may be returned in exchange for a store credit. Used chemicals and fish food are not returnable. In addition, all sales on Japanese Koi are final and non-refundable.
