Limnobium laevigatum, commonly known as Amazon Frogbit, is a popular floating plant in aquariums and ponds. Native to the lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers of Central and South America, its appearance resembles large duckweed, adding a lush, green canopy to the water’s surface. This plant’s fast-growing nature and low-maintenance requirements make it ideal for hobbyists looking to enhance their aquarium’s aesthetics while improving water quality.

The Amazon Frogbit forms floating rosettes that produce runners, which quickly develop new plants. Within a short period, these floating carpets can cover calm areas of the aquarium, providing beneficial cover for fish. Its long, trailing roots are perfect breeding grounds for species like rainbowfish and ricefish, offering protection for eggs and fry. The roots can easily be trimmed to control their length without harming the plant, making it a versatile option for various tank setups.

Thriving in strong light and nutrient-rich environments, Amazon Frogbit may even flower in ideal conditions, although this is rare. It is highly recommended for newly cycling aquariums, as it helps absorb excess nutrients and shade areas prone to algae growth. This floating plant can also be repurposed; any excess Frogbit removed from the aquarium can be used as fertilizer for houseplants, garden plants, or compost, making it an eco-friendly choice for aquarists.

• For Motor Freight (LTL) Shipments, oversized or heavy items unsuitable for traditional parcel delivery will be dispatched through a motor freight carrier, as indicated on the product page. Once the carrier receives your order, they will reach out to arrange a delivery time. An individual aged 18 or older must be present to sign for the delivery.
• You may return or exchange an unused or unopened item for a refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days of purchase. Following 30 days, the item may be returned in exchange for a store credit. Used chemicals and fish food are not returnable. In addition, all sales on Japanese Koi are final and non-refundable.
