Cryptocoryne lucens, also known as Cryptocoryne x willisii, is a naturally occurring hybrid of Cryptocoryne parva, C. walkeri, and C. beckettii. Native to the riverbanks around Kandy in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, this plant features slender, lance-shaped leaves with a smooth, medium-green coloration. Unlike C. parva, C. lucens grows taller, reaching up to 8 inches when submerged and 10 inches when grown emersed. 

A well-established favorite in the aquarium hobby, Cryptocoryne lucens is a hardy, slow-growing plant that spreads through underground runners and offshoots from its rosette. Its narrow, grass-like leaves create a refined, natural aesthetic in aquascapes. It thrives in a variety of tank conditions and adapts well to both low-tech and high-tech setups, making it an excellent choice for beginners and experienced aquascapers alike.

Ideal for foreground and midground placement, Cryptocoryne lucens forms lush, dense clusters that enhance the visual depth of an aquarium. In taller tanks, it can even serve as a grass-like carpeting plant, offering a slower-growing alternative to more aggressive species like Helanthium. With stable water conditions and proper nutrient supply, this resilient crypt will establish itself as a long-lasting, elegant addition to any planted tank.

• For Motor Freight (LTL) Shipments, oversized or heavy items unsuitable for traditional parcel delivery will be dispatched through a motor freight carrier, as indicated on the product page. Once the carrier receives your order, they will reach out to arrange a delivery time. An individual aged 18 or older must be present to sign for the delivery.
• You may return or exchange an unused or unopened item for a refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days of purchase. Following 30 days, the item may be returned in exchange for a store credit. Used chemicals and fish food are not returnable. In addition, all sales on Japanese Koi are final and non-refundable.
