Cryptocoryne parva, the smallest species in the Cryptocoryne genus, hails from the central highlands of Sri Lanka near Kandy. Known for its dense, riverbank colonies, this plant is now rarely found in the wild and may be considered endangered. Despite its long-standing presence in aquaristics, it remains relatively uncommon due to its slow growth.

In the aquarium, Cryptocoryne parva requires abundant light to thrive, along with CO2 and nutrient-rich substrate for optimal growth. Maintaining high levels of iron and potassium is crucial to avoid deficiencies such as chlorosis and leaf holes. To prevent the initial melting phase and for continued success with this plant, provide it with root fertilizing tablets or capsules, and repeat the dose every 2 - 3 months.  While slow-growing, this plant is perfect for creating a lush, foreground carpet in small aquaria and nano tanks. Its compact size and gradual spread make it a low-maintenance choice that rewards patience with a beautiful, lawn-like appearance. Propagation is straightforward, involving the growth of lateral shoots and runners from the rhizome.

• You may return or exchange an unused or unopened item for a refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days of purchase. Following 30 days, the item may be returned in exchange for a store credit. Used chemicals and fish food are not returnable. In addition, all sales on Japanese Koi are final and non-refundable.
