How To Use: 

1. Carefully take the plant out of the cup and thoroughly rinse off the growing media (agar) in a container of water. 

2.  Split the plant in 6-8 portions using your fingers or sharp scissors. Definitely use sharp scissors to separate any small foreground plants. 

3.  Plant the portions into the substrate using tweezers, then watch them grow!

Echinodorus grisebachii ‘Tropica’, also known as Echinodorus parviflorus ‘Tropica’, is a compact and attractive sword plant first introduced in the 1980s after being discovered as a unique variant in Tropica’s nursery in Denmark. This cultivar was later formally published in 1985 and quickly gained popularity among aquascapers for its manageable size and striking appearance. Typically reaching 2–4 inches in height, and occasionally up to about 6 inches under optimal conditions, it forms a dense rosette with narrow, obovate leaves in medium to dark green tones. The foliage often develops a slightly textured, bullate surface with a rounded tip, giving it a distinctive look that sets it apart from larger sword plants.

With its slow growth habit and tidy form, Echinodorus ‘Tropica’ is perfectly suited for the foreground or midground of aquariums, particularly in nano setups or as a compact accent in larger tanks. It thrives in nutrient-rich substrates with moderate to high lighting, and while CO₂ supplementation enhances its coloration and growth, the plant remains adaptable to lower-tech aquariums. Ideal water parameters range between 72–82 °F with a broad pH tolerance, making it easy to maintain in a wide variety of conditions. Its versatility, hardiness, and aesthetic appeal make it a favorite choice for aquascapers who want a lush green contrast to finer-leaved plants or a long-lasting foreground feature.

• You may return or exchange an unused or unopened item for a refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days of purchase. Following 30 days, the item may be returned in exchange for a store credit. Used chemicals and fish food are not returnable. In addition, all sales on Japanese Koi are final and non-refundable.
