Shinnersia rivularis, commonly known as Mexican Oakleaf, is a vibrant aquatic plant native to the southern United States and northeastern Mexico. Belonging to the water-primrose family, which includes popular aquarium plants like Ludwigia and Limnophila, this species features delicate, lance-shaped leaves that reach up to 3 inches in length. Its light green to yellow-green foliage adds a fresh, natural look to any aquarium. Typically growing between 6 to 12 inches tall, Mexican Oakleaf can thrive in both submerged and emersed conditions, making it a versatile choice for aquascaping.

Highly valued for its fast growth and easy maintenance, Mexican Oakleaf adapts well to moderate to high lighting levels and quickly fills empty spaces in an aquarium. This plant also acts as a natural water purifier, absorbing excess nutrients to help prevent algae growth. In the wild, it flourishes in slow-moving streams, marshes, and wetland habitats, serving as a food source for waterfowl and aquatic life. Additionally, indigenous communities have utilized Mexican Oakleaf for its medicinal properties, traditionally using it to treat ailments such as fever and dysentery.

• Free Shipping is valid for orders with a subtotal exceeding $199 and all orders will be shipped via UPS. Items purchased for delivery after 3pm will ship the following day. Items purchased for delivery after 3pm on Friday will ship Monday.
• Koi Fish only ship Monday- Wednesday. For orders placed after 3pm on Wednesday, the order will be shipped the following Monday.
• For Motor Freight (LTL) Shipments, oversized or heavy items unsuitable for traditional parcel delivery will be dispatched through a motor freight carrier, as indicated on the product page. Once the carrier receives your order, they will reach out to arrange a delivery time. An individual aged 18 or older must be present to sign for the delivery.
• You may return or exchange an unused or unopened item for a refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days of purchase. Following 30 days, the item may be returned in exchange for a store credit. Used chemicals and fish food are not returnable. In addition, all sales on Japanese Koi are final and non-refundable.
