Usage Tips

• Sinking the Wood: Initially use a weight or rock to sink the wood; it will naturally submerge after becoming fully saturated.

• Normal Fungus Development: A temporary white fungus may appear but is harmless and may be consumed by fish or shrimp. It can also be removed with gentle scrubbing. 

• Tannins: The wood may release tannins for a period of time, which can tint the water a tea-like color. To reduce this effect, use products such as Seachem Purigen or Chemipure Green, and/or perform regular water changes. Some aquarists choose to keep the tannins, as many fish and shrimp thrive in the natural “blackwater” look they create.

• Free Shipping is valid for orders with a subtotal exceeding $199 and all orders will be shipped via UPS. Items purchased for delivery after 3pm will ship the following day. Items purchased for delivery after 3pm on Friday will ship Monday.
• Koi Fish only ship Monday- Wednesday. For orders placed after 3pm on Wednesday, the order will be shipped the following Monday.
• For Motor Freight (LTL) Shipments, oversized or heavy items unsuitable for traditional parcel delivery will be dispatched through a motor freight carrier, as indicated on the product page. Once the carrier receives your order, they will reach out to arrange a delivery time. An individual aged 18 or older must be present to sign for the delivery.
• You may return or exchange an unused or unopened item for a refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days of purchase. Following 30 days, the item may be returned in exchange for a store credit. Used chemicals and fish food are not returnable. In addition, all sales on Japanese Koi are final and non-refundable.
