Classic Sanke Coloration

Sanke, also known as Taisho Sanke, are celebrated for their combination of white, red, and black. The clean white base, known as shiroji, provides a bright foundation for the vibrant red markings, called hi, while the contrasting black accents, known as sumi, add depth and definition. This distinctive three-color combination has made Sanke a longstanding favorite among Japanese koi enthusiasts.

Traditional Japanese Koi Elegance

The appeal of Sanke lies in the interplay between its three signature colors. Red markings create vibrant focal points, the white base provides clarity, and black accents add contrast to the overall pattern. This classic coloration gives the variety a refined appearance that complements many other koi in a mixed pond.
