Distinctive Blue Shusui Coloration

Shusui are a traditional Japanese koi variety recognized for their soft blue coloring and distinctive body appearance. The blue tones create a calm, understated look that appeals to enthusiasts who appreciate koi with unique coloration rather than bold multicolor patterns.

Signature Doitsu Scale Pattern

One of the defining characteristics of Shusui is its Doitsu body, with smooth, scaleless sides and a prominent row of larger scales running along the dorsal line. These dark blue scales provide a striking contrast against the lighter blue body, creating the signature appearance that makes Shusui so recognizable.
