The Koi Fest Japanese-Style Koi Auction is a high-energy, interactive buying experience modeled after traditional auctions in Japan. It offers attendees the opportunity to bid on hand-selected koi in a fast-paced, exciting environment alongside fellow hobbyists and collectors.
The koi auction takes place during Koi Fest on Saturday. A detailed schedule will be released closer to the event, so be sure to check the event timeline for exact timing.
The auction is held on-site at the Fitz’s Fish Ponds Farm as part of the main Koi Fest experience, making it easily accessible to all attendees.
In a Japanese-style auction, koi are presented one at a time (or in small groups), and bidding happens quickly. Participants signal their bids in real-time, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere. It’s designed to be both engaging and efficient.
No special ticket is required—any Koi Fest attendee can participate in the auction.
The auction is open to all attendees. However, VIP and Special Access guests may have earlier opportunities to view or purchase koi prior to the auction.
You are able to register online ahead of the event by clicking here. In order to register, payment details must be stored on file. These will be confirmed the day of the event. You may also register at Koi Fest at the auction check in table.
There is no cost to register or participate in bidding. You only pay if you win a bid on a koi.

Yes, there is no limit—you are welcome to bid on and purchase as many koi as you’d like.
All major credit cards are accepted as payment for the koi auction. Payment must be on file before you participate in the auction. Should you need a different payment method please reach out to koifest@fitzfishponds.com
In most cases, koi are taken home the same day. However, additional options may be available—please check with staff at the event.
Yes. Our team will assist with properly bagging your koi to ensure safe transport.
Limited holding or shipping options may be available. Please speak with a team member at the event to discuss arrangements.
If you win a bid, the card you have stored on file will immediately be charged. Your koi will be bagged, boxed and labeled and you can pick it up at "Koi Storage/Pick Up" when you would like to leave!
Yes, we highly recommend setting a budget in advance to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
