Doitsu Shiro Utsuri koi are unique for their sharp black and white pattern along with their body being smooth and lacking scales. As a Doitsu version of the traditional Shiro Utsuri, these koi possess the same bold sumi, which refers to the black markings, on the white skin, but lacks full scale coverage; rather it has the uninterrupted band of black trim which characterizes Doitsu Utsuri. This creates a striking, high-contrast koi which is hard to miss.
Their bold appearance is enhanced by the clarity of the skin and the way black bands wrap across the body, head, and fins. With no large scales to distract from the pattern, the sumi patches appear deeper and more defined. These koi are ideal for those who enjoy minimalism, balance, and a clean aesthetic in their pond.
