Distinctive Blue Shusui Coloration

Shusui are admired for their attractive blue or blue-gray coloration and unique appearance. Unlike fully scaled koi, Shusui have smooth sides that highlight their body color and dorsal markings. This 16cm Japanese Imported Butterfly Shusui showcases the defining features that have made this traditional variety popular among koi enthusiasts.

Signature Dorsal Scale Pattern

One of the most recognizable characteristics of Shusui is the orderly row of darker scales running along the back. This distinctive line contrasts with the smooth sides and creates the variety’s classic appearance. The combination of blue coloration and prominent dorsal scales gives this Butterfly Shusui a unique visual identity.

Elegant Butterfly Fins

Butterfly koi are known for their long, flowing fins, which create graceful movement as they swim through the water. These elongated fins distinguish Butterfly varieties from standard-finned koi and add elegance to their silhouette. Combined with the blue coloration and distinctive dorsal scale pattern, the flowing fins give this koi an eye-catching presence in the pond.
