This traditional appearance gives the variety a refined and recognizable look among Japanese koi. This 17cm Butterfly Asagi displays the classic color characteristics that make Asagi a favorite among enthusiasts who appreciate traditional koi varieties.

Warm Red-Orange Side Coloration

A defining feature of Asagi koi is the warm red or orange coloration that develops along the sides and lower body. These warmer tones contrast beautifully with the cooler blue-gray coloring across the back, creating visual balance and depth. The combination of blue-gray scales and red-orange accents gives this Butterfly Asagi its distinctive appeal.

Elegant Butterfly Fins

Butterfly koi are known for their long, flowing fins, which create graceful movement as they swim through the water. These elongated fins distinguish Butterfly varieties from standard-finned koi and add elegance to their silhouette. Paired with the traditional Asagi pattern and contrasting colors, the flowing fins give this koi a unique presence in the pond.
